I called up Optimum for stand alone internet service, they told me that the old promo $30 month/12 months went up to $40 a month LAST WEEK. I HUCA'd like crazy but no matter what, I was only able to get an offer for $40. What other ISP's can I look into for cheap internet?

in lakewood its basically optimum or fios afaik.
my experience with verizon (not wireless) has always been a total nightmare!

Stay as far away from Verizon as possible. Possibly the worst customer service in the world. They'll shut you down randomly and then just say I think we have an open technician in about 2 weeks.
My 12 months 29.99 Internet deal just expired with optimum. Tried to call  (2weeks ago so either I was lied to or yuneeq was lied to.) they had nothing to offer. I'll keep calling. Post if you have any luck.

they have everyone over the barrel, bec. there's really no one to switch to. you're lucky they didn't call your bluf. i don't think Fios does internet-only plans, at least it didn't seem like an option for my address....

when my 12 months ran out I added boost for about 2 weeks then I called back and said I'd like to downgrade, they considered it like I'm starting a new plan and gave me another 12 months of the promotional $29.95/month
