Looking: Home Stereo sound system

I'm looking for a home system to play  music, what do you recomend?

(to be mounted in the kitchen area)

Anyone know anything about home stereo systems? I haven't bought one in over 10 years, I'm looking for something in the $100-$200 price range. I see these two on amazon seem to be the most popular, anyone have any input? Thanks.

It's seems the extra wattage is just the sub woofer. No built in speakers, just going to be used as a stand alone.

Probably depending on what kind of music you want to listen to... as do you want the sub-woofer.
