If we're looking for marketing, OU plus something that sounds frum. If we're going for who I trust more to follow Yoreh deah, the OU. As I have said, I am sure there are chassidishe shechitas that have higher standards than the OU. But I'm also sure that there are some with lower standards, or higher standards but fewer controls to monitor compliance.

When you say chassidus, you are not referring to inyanei yirah bichlal. That would include mussar and other disciplines as well. Hence the prejudice for a group

I don't think that the OU following a psak of R Soloveitzik is a great example or a shock

Add R' Aron to this as well at least according to R Herschel Shacters teshuva regarding fish... I tried to confirm with Y(?)Shp.. (You can PM me if you're not sure who I'm referring to) he told me that he has heard this claim before but unfortunately the one & only person who can actually (& honestly) confirm this was niftar not too long ago..

IIRC that teshuva was written to R' Reuven while he was still a bochur. R' Reuven explains it in english in his recently published sefer Divrei Sholom.

My distinct understanding is that Rav Moshe didn't see a hechsher as a legal entity per se. I know of his talmidim who will eat in restaurants owned by a shomer shabbos yid regardless of hashgocha, and will not eat in one owned by a goy, equally regardless of hashgocha. The OU admits to this themselves in the interview above, that if someone is not trustworthy hashgocha doesn't help, and we all have seen that.

Re the wands - they use them to steam milk, apple juice, lemonade, and matcha powder or vanilla bean powder. I think these are all kosher - except for the lemonade which doesn't have hashgocha. thoughts?

They use a soapy rag between so it's pgam regardless.
