Because the people making snide comments about someone who is 5 times their age most likely never cracked open a halacha sefer and have no idea of how to learn aliba dihilchasa.

I'm not getting into the specifics of that case exactly for that reason. Because I am not qualified to have a part in that discussion. For some reason, a bunch of young shnooks think they do have a right to be Mevaze Talmidei Chachuchim.

Because I associate the attitude of those people with having been raised and bred in Lakewood yeshivas. I may be wrong, but that leads to the definition of Chillul Hashem discussed on the Daf a few days ago.

Amazing how you just painted a stereotype on one of the largest yeshivos in the world and one of the largest frum communities under the guise of defending talmidei chachomim without any indication at all of the statement you complained about having anything to do with either. Maybe a look in the mirror is warranted.

I agree with you that I'm wrong about writing about it that way, but I just felt like I had to speak up because I've seen this attitude here too many times.

What you write is sickening and factually wrong. Many of the people that took issue with the above referenced psak are talmidei chachamim of great stature and aren't young either.

Taking a swipe and being מוציא שם רע on a community of tens of thousands of people including thousands of תלמידי חכמים amongst them many who are well versed in הלכה is abhorrent and is שנאת חנם, not something anyone should ever be peddling and definitely not this time of year.

My understanding is that they do not require PY unless that is the specific certification.
