There are two levels of Rav Levinger - Maor Hakashrus. There's Maor Hakashrus, which is on a very low level, and Badatz Maor Hakashrus, which is considered reliable by many (on Eidlotz list, and it was recommended on JKN recently.) See if it says Badatz Maor Hakashrus or regular.

No, he's considered a kashrut expert and has partnered with the OU often. It's just an equivalent to Rabbanut and Rabbanut Mehadrin.

Interesting. I never knew about the 2 levels. From what I saw it seems to the rubber stamp kind. The one that appears on cheeses like triangle k gave in untill now.

No. From what I understand these don't profess to anything more than barebones, employing every kuoa in the book. For triangle k I understand it's his official shita to be very meikel in order to give kashrus to as many products as possible.

So at least with Triangle K they are honest about what they do. The two I hinted at use fancy marketing (the word "Badatz" in their name), and claim to be certifying CY cheese, when there are serious Kashrus questions, let alone CY..

That was not what the person was trying to tell me. I'm not sure what level of kashrus he holds by. I'm sure you know what the general chareidi sentiment is towards triangle k.

Again, what I wrote had nothing to do with the actual level of kashrus. It's that there is some reasoning behind that.

To my understanding kashrus 50-60 years ago had to rely on more kuelos to be able to get off the ground and get products certified, as the products and the consumers grew they were able to raise the level to not have to rely on those kuelos. Triangle k still believes "bshita" that you can still use all those kuelos as well as others.

I don't think they are the only ones. In many places in Europe it's acceptes to certify non glatt meat. I have heard that the main issue is that in most places it has become accepted. Not that it's better on way or the other (for ashkenazim of course) except for the sake of being machmir- a whole nother discussion.

On the contrary a place like Rome has a mesora going back hundreds of year that they never accepted the chumra of glatt (to my knowledge).

It's more a hashkafa shayla if you can raise the level of the kashrus with minor cost or concern of losing the whole market should you do that or just settle with the minimum or old less lchatchila way.
