No I would call glatt a chumra that was generally accepted by the ashkenasim.

There are certain shailos where you can use certain kuelos and or multiple kuelos depending on the circumstances. Nothing specific off hand.

Stam yayin is a hard sugya to be Mattir because at the end of the day the gemaras and poskim due paskin it's assur however improbable.

Non-glatt and סתם יינם are different IMHO. Non-glatt is מותר לכתחילה for Ashkenazim. Being makpid on glatt is a chumra or hiddur, which BH with today's Jewish material wealth, has been widely accepted.

סתם יינם is גזירה דרבנן. Not a chumra.

I wasn't comparing the two, merely suggesting that what considered a chumra is subjective even when the sources seemingly point one way. Their minhag re stam yeinam is not a recent thing, it's ancient.

Practically speaking any hechsher certifying non-glatt is also going to be relying on other קולות which may not be as clear cut מותר מעיקר הדין as non glatt. In addition in general the overall standard of kashrus is going to be less.

To my understanding kashrus 50-60 years ago had to rely on more kuelos to be able to get off the ground and get products certified, as the products and the consumers grew they were able to raise the level to not have to rely on those kuelos. Triangle k still believes "bshita" that you can still use all those kuelos as well as others.

This is the real issue. Rabbi Ralbag has some kulos that are not accepted by anyone else.

So at least with Triangle K they are honest about what they do. The two I hinted at use fancy marketing (the word "Badatz" in their name), and claim to be certifying CY cheese, when there are serious Kashrus questions, let alone CY..

I wasnt speaking practically. You understand that even if there practically is a connection to lower standards, it's not based on anything really halachic.

It is based on the fact that consumers that don't care about glatt generally don't care about relying on other halachic kulos as long as someone is attesting that it is Kosher.

I would think it needs a hechsher or at least a recommendation by a Kashrus agency.

The CRC lists a few other benefiber products but doesn't mention this one way or another
