don't know if their kosher what i heard is they are opened on Shabbos and even rabanut doesn't give a hechsher

Recently learned about a problem many (most?) hechsherim have with using fish without simanim, but with an OU (ex. frozen tilapia). I asked why CRC and many national hechsherim are ok with it if it's such an issue, and got silence. Can anyone enlighten me? @moko ?

Have you reached out to OU?
Many (most?) large agencies only certify with skin (tabs) on. And the certification applies to the processing, assuring the consumer that they need not be concerned of cross contamination with non kosher species and no further washing/scraping is necessary

I guess I should clarify my confusion. The OU certifies that this is tilapia and that there was no cross contamination. The product is raw and frozen. What is the reason most hechsherim say it can't be relied on? And why do some national hechsherim, such as the CRC and Chof K, disagree with that? I understand the standard without a hechsher is to have simanim, I'm not understanding why it's the same standard with an OU.

I don't believe these are hashgacha temidis so its the equivalent of no simanim

No simanim and no MT as moko mentioned. This is the same a canned tuna.
