This is part of what is so frustrating about these squabbles. Kashrus everywhere is not politics. @moko's post upthread detailing the importance of knowing the standards of each hechsher clarified that there are very real kashrus concerns behind many of the "disagreements". Then every so often we get a mess like this which makes it really hard to make this point with any kind of credibility.

I did. Even watched him shecht a cow when I was in YAT.

Then every so often we get a mess like this which makes it really hard to make this point with any kind of credibility.

Color me jaded then.

I watched a local kashrus agency run a restaurant out of business when they used their own R"H and months later the kasurus agency was asleep at the wheel while their own certified restaurant was serving treif. And then watched the new local kashrus ban all CHK meat for life. And that's all moderate compared to the mafia in other places.

Believe me, I have every reason to be jaded. Any South African can back me up on my Big Kosher Jadedness credentials. I'm not arguing that there is not a massive problem in many places that politics, money, power, or ignorance gets way ahead of actual concern for kashrus. My sadness is that causes people to dismiss any voiced kashrus concern as "politics", etc.

Yes, it's sad. And I don't think it's always politics. But far too often, politics plays a role.

Fair enough. I'll post with the disclosure that I was personally recommended for a long time already not to use Myers' hechsher, and that many hechsherim don't allow his stuff to be used or sold.

לפני כמה חדשים הודעתי למערכת כשרות בעלזא שאני יוצא ומתפטר. לא הם פטרו אותי אלא אני פטרתי אותי מהם. הסיבה שיצאתי, כי לדעתי הכשרות שם ברמה הכי נמוכה שאפשר, ומכשילים את הרבים. הכל בגלל נגיעות כספיות. מאז הערתי על כמה ליקויי כשרות חמורים. בשבוע האחרון שוב הערתי, וערבתי הרבנות הראשית, והתחילו לאיים עלי שאם אפרסם דבר כלשהו על הכשרות, אז ישמיצו אותי בכל העולם, ויפרסמו שאני לוקח שוחד ועוד טענות שקריות מגוחכות, בעיקר להפחיד ולהשמיץ אותי ולאיים עלי.

כאשר אינני מתרגש מהטרור שלהם, ולא מפשקוויל 'בשם הבית דין' – חתום כאילו לפני חודש – אני מפרסמו ברבים.
שיראו הרבים מי המושחתים בראש הכשרות. לצערי, מזו הסיבה, החלטתי לפרסם הדבר, ואינני מפחד מהם!

ברור הדבר שלא מדרכי לפרסם דברים כאלה ולרדת לרמה נמוכה כזאת
אבל כאשר מאיימים עלי לפרסם הדבר החלטתי אדרבה יראו אנ"ש וישפטו!
ואני מוכן לבוא לפני כל בית דין להוכיח על ליקויי כשרות חמורים!
