I would be surprised if they bother shechting at such a rate. What does it mean the mir got only shaleim? Do you mean the yeshiva or a sale? Is it worth it for them to get only certain parts? Also  the yeshiva sends people to kasher for them so it may be a bit different then regular availability.

He means the Mir's at cost sale to avreichim (or honestly anyone who wants to order through them...its possibly the largest single order of meat/chicken in the country)
Its worth it for who ever ordered it.
Kraayim (thighs) and Shnitzel are two halves of a whole...

And Just to help out those wondering what in the world
Sholeim = Whole chicken
Mechulak = Quartered
Knafayim = wings
Kraayim = Thighs, bottoms
Mefurak = is split chicken parts (a tray of legs, a tray of wings, a tray of tops...)

As for shechting at that low rate - I doubt they would consider it in any other season...

No inside information why, but I can surmise:
Cheaper and the chasidim will eat it (which was why the switch to shearis failed...)

Makes sense only if they have what to do with the treifos, I agree.
The Mir has a sale eight-ten times a year. The sale offers sholeim, mechulak, mefurak, knafayim, shnitzel and kraayim, by the case (as well as many other items, kamuvan). As I recall they are almost always the cheapest option in the country for that hechsher.
Thursday was pickup for the cases of chicken, but the company sent them only sholeim and mefurak (chickens that had been alive that morning), and some random knafayim they had in the freezer. They didn't get the mefurak, shnitzel and kraayim they ordered. The mefurak appears to be coming today - in limited quantities, and late at that - and there is still no word on shnitzel or kraayim. Store prices on Sheeris chicken appear to have already gone up a significant amount (I saw chazeh of in Shefa Beracha on Paran for 55 shekel a kilo).

Once on the  topic,its amazing how much effort and cost  goes into the mirs kashrus . I was by an Eida  shechita in Haifa a few weeks ago and heard the Rav telling the Bodek Chutz to set aside cows with especially good lungs for the Mir Yeshiva. I later heard they got 13 cows.

Same source says Sheeris chickens are projected to have an 8% success rate in shechita for the next two weeks. Though they said "daleket."

Daleket = infection
Reyoy = lungs

put them together "daleket reyot" and you get the name of a specific infection in humans otherwise it just means "lung infection"

Doesn't necessarily work depends on the microwave. Anyway some say not kasherable.

Definitely not simple... I've heard like 10 minutes of water at least and it has to be very clean etc, and that was from fleishigs to milk or vice versa... An aylor question forsure....
