This chat is extreme. OU not reliable, Jacks Meat not reliable, etc.

It's hard to imagine someone saying OU is not reliable as perhaps every Hechsher in the world relies on it.
Maybe for certain products/places/resturants/hotels/venues Rabbi Kuber says it, but for everything its hard to imagine... especially because he works for the OU... hrm...

I dont do whatsapp, but in my experience R Kuber will not comment on the OU at all even in the most off the record settings (maybe aside for perhaps making a nafka mina between the US and IL branches)

It was about a specific item and not the overarching statement you made it seem to be. It is about a meat product which comes from a specific producer who he may have issues with.

R Kuber's shita in general is he doesn't recommend anything he hasn't personally looked into. Or occasionally he has people he trusts look into it for him. It doesnt necessarily mean there is an issue.

Very true.
His "can't recommend" has no more significance than "I don't have enough info to give you an answer".
If he has a specific problem, he'll say so. (Lemashal, Ayin the WA sugya... ).
In his deep intro to kasrus courses, he has two full off the record sessions (i.e. take whatever notes you want, but no recording) dedicated to specifying the maalos and chesronos of specific kashrus orgs across the world - aside from the OU, which he won't comment on.

*🚨An Important Kashrus Alert from Rabbi Mordechai Kuber🚨*

*Product:* Wheetabix Cereal

*Issue:* Bug Infestation

*Rabbi Kuber Elaborates:*

Lately, reports have been circulating concerning infestation in Wheetabix cereal that is produced in South Africa.

Today, I received a call from an Avreich who reported that he inspected the cereal and saw many bugs, and that he received similar calls from his friends.

He met me and showed me videos of the bugs that he discovered in the cereal, and we inspected together a closed box, purchased at random. In one of the two inside packets, we found one tiny bug in the first three cereal cakes. In the other bag, in the first cereal cake, I easily found three bugs, and I stopped checking at that point.

The batch in which the bugs are found is SL.48, which has an expiration date of 28-11-2024. It should be considered muchzak b’tolaim, and it is prohibited to use it. The bugs are too small to allow the cereal to be checked, so it must be discarded.

As with all important topics, please seek the counsel of your Rav.

I just caught up on that chat. Seems to be an individual rabble rouser that is misrepresenting rav moshe and admittedly saying things based on hearsay.
 I don't see why that individual should have any nemamus at all.
