Skittles Littles Original are kosher even without OU on packaging. This applies to both bags and tubes. No special code or date needed. There will soon be an OU on them but they are acceptable already as of now.

Are the skittles made in Israel the same as the USA? The Israeli one has the KF hechser, which I don’t eat, but I eat OU…

The ones from Kosher stores and in Israel are under KF
Skittles in the UK are on KLBD list as kosher but NOT certified

I thought a Baal nefesh was someone who'd spend on CY first before spending on a shtreimel

Maybe someone can find @yungermanchik post where IIRC he said Rav Reuven Feinstein told him something along the lines of although he isn't a ba'al nefash, since when Rav Moshe was niftar people looked up to him to be a ba'al nefesh, he started being makpid on CY. Rav Dovid Feinstein wasn't makpid until IINM he was in his 60's because that's when he became a ba'al nefesh. If someone wants to give a reason to be machmir, that's their prerogative, but don't use Rav Moshe's "ba'al nefesh yachmir" when he clearly wasn't talking to the general public.

From Rav Fishbein's words it looks just the opposite. That there is more reason for everyone to be machmir today, but somehow Rav Moshe's psak is here for eternity and we can't dare to say that nowadays it should seriously be reexamined, so he's using Rav Moshe's "ba'al nefesh yachmir" as sort to point to that even according to Rav Moshe, one is *allowed* to be machmir.

Rav Reuven told me clearly that a baal nefesh is a very high madreigah, and that he himself does not feel that he is holding there (approx. 5 years ago), but since people perceive him as being a real baal nefesh, he himself is machmir. And that for me, there is no reason to (unless they are basically the same price).

Rabbi Yechezkal Aurbach wrote an article, maybe it was posted somewhere here, in which he writes that when he was a bachur on vacation somewhere they called Rav Moshe about eating C’S and Rav Moshe told them his heter was not for them.

Interesting how something that without RMFs teshuvah would likely have been consensus pashut halacha, is now getting debated how much of a "baal nefesh" you need to be, to be allowed to be "machmir"

You're only saying this because you don't know why there is a makom lehachmir. Hint: it's not because it may not be kosher.
