An ice cream truck came into my neighborhood selling "cholov yisroel" ice cream. The guy operating the truck was not wearing a yarmulka and serving ice cream and slush from the machines. I'm trying to figure out if I'm missing something or is the ice cream not kosher for lack of a hechsher?
I wonder what people who type "u" instead of "you" do with all their free time.

and maybe he was just not wearing a yarmulke... could be he was Shomer Shabbos. Could be many issues here but also could be fine. Needs more delving into to the exact details.

I did not, do ice cream trucks usually have one? If they do why isn't it posted?

That's definitely possible, but can't be assumed.

If they are selling packaged products then just check the package.

However he was serving from machines so I would think they need to be certified (and certainly for CY) .... it may not have been posted on the outside of truck but if an agency was certifying them, they'd have the letter somewhere.
Make sure to confirm exp date, company name and address

Glucose drink used at park slope midwives for the gestational diabetes test has a KOA on it. Anyone know if this is acceptable?

Ask them if you can use grape juice instead.

DW's OB-GYN once told her to eat a certain count of Jelly Beans instead.
I've been waiting over 5 years with bated breath for someone to say that!

1) The rabbi seems like an orthodox rabbi, based on my quick online research I would probably trust his kashrus.

2) It's not considered food so it doesn't have to be kosher (AYLOR, that's what mine told me)

Between the 2 you should be ok.

PSA!!

Lusty claw bourbon is using an unauthorized "OK" Kosher symbol.
This product is not, and was never certified by the OK.

(Not that it needs to, but still.)

What about plain black?
Plain black coffee is generally kosher anywhere.
