Is puréeing strawberries a ודאי that there are no בריהs left?
No. Many studies have been done that showed that there were full beryas intact after pureeing.

Kirkland frozen strawberries used to have OU I think.
Then, they were no longer available for a long time.
Now, they are available again under a different hechsher and it says to check for bugs. I don't remember the name. Not one you see around.
Rav Belsky was of the opinion that mites were not considered nireh le'ayin. Small thrips (I forgot up until what size) were also not nireh according to him. They therefore considered the washed kirkland strawberries as miyut sheaino matzui. Obviously, not all agree with that shitah and would make sense that a different hashgacha would hold they they are at least matzui.

This is an untenable position.

except it's not realistic

I also take it that you should puree it. I think most Rabbanim these days say to do that.

depends who you ask.
I was referring to frozen. We check frozen occasionally for research and it's quite a mess . You don't end up with usable product unless it for blending

I once heard this theory that you can buy frozen XYZ because they wash it well not worrying how nice the product will look like, so it's no longer infested.

Plenty of people use it whole in compote/yougurts etc. If the packaging doesn't explicitly say it's for pureeing only but still is of the opinion that it's gotta be checked, which is practically impossible for a laymen on frozen produce, that is saying a lot on the standards of that hechsher.

The letter writer respectfully and rightfully points out that not everything is cholov yisroel. Additionally he points out there are other concerns about other items not being up to the standards of many peoples kashrus. The store owner doesn't deny the allegations yet attacks the letter writer.

Rabbi Yoffe while being an ehlicher yid is not an expert in Kashrus. The fact that his father was a talmid of R' Aharon ztl or the fact that he is a rov in lakewood for many years is irrelevant. While he was involved in the founding of the kcl to the best of my knowledge he was never involved in the operations or kashrus administration. The KCL would never dream of giving a hashgocha in such an establishment.

Bottom line the establishment has cholov stam (to what extent seemingly may vary by store) and you are trusting the non-jewish workers to maintain seperation. Additionally there seem to be other items that may not be up to standard.

IMHO this is not an establishment that a ben torah should be eating from. If you choose to eat there fine but it is important people are aware of what it is and let them make an informed choice.

I eat Chalav Stam. Are there any other reason to avoid Rita's?

BTW, the vast majority of Lakewood holds of CY as a chumra, not ikkar halacha, unlike Chabad, which may explain this hechshers stance.

A Gezeiras Rabonon is not a Chumra.
It is a chumra to consider CS as part of the gezaira.

Nearly everyone I know in Lakewood eats DE. That means it's a chumra in their eyes.

Not according to most poskim, with the exception of the Pri Chodesh, and R'Moshe, unless my foggy brain is missing something today.

The arguments here seems odd. For those who agree with Reb Moshe but are still machmir on CY, it's indeed just a chumra. Those who disagreed with Reb Moshe's chiddush didn't see any difference from CS to Cholov Akum, no chumra whatsoever. One may say that the vast majority of American Litvaks view Reb Moshe's psak as an ikkar ha'din, but no one can argue that the vast majority of today's Lakewood consists of Litvaks.

BTW, the vast majority of Lakewood holds of CY as a chumra, not ikkar halacha, unlike Chabad, which may explain this hechshers stance.

It's not just a Chabad thing.

Anyone familiar with this hechsher (Rav Yitzchak Ehrenberg - Berlin)? Sold at Walmart and would be convenient to rely on in a pinch when traveling.

Do they have a mashgiach identifying the fish, or are they relying on local laws (or color for salmon)? From the picture on the packaging, it doesn't seem to be skin on.
