Ahhh but now that you have hechsherim supervising based on their being lenient in general you can have a supervision even if you totally disregard R Moshe. I know a number of people who eat DE based on this reasoning especially since R Moshe required kashering.

The hechsher shouldn't be going according to what any circle thinks it believes, they should certify what they claim to be certifying. The hechsher is saying it's CY entirely. If they are only certifying that it is DE, or if they are being meikil because "it's only a chumrah" they need to say that explicitly.

Another proof that it's considered a chumra here is that almost nobody attempts to use chalav yisrael baby formula lechatchila. Everyone uses regular Enfamil without batting an eye.

Is that what the hechsher actually says though? Call up Rabbi Yoffe - he's quite accessible. The owner does not equal the hechsher.

I'd say you'd be surprised how common this is outside the US in regards to CY and in the US in regards to yoshon, but I don't think @Yehuda57 will be surprised

I wouldn’t say “almost nobody” but many indeed use it. Another proof are the many people who use the open bottles of C’Y at 7-11.

This is simply not true. Some use it but very many do not.
