You don't need to interrogate him. If he tells you it's kosher, he's telling you they don't use the same tray for pizza and hot dogs because that's not kosher. How he goes about ensuring everything is kosher is his responsibility.

So in our camp scenario, due to the well known rampant disregard for basic Kashrus precautions that go on in camps without a proper system, why don’t you have reason to assume this camp is part of that?

If there is no proper system set up in a commercial kitchen then the sincere intent for all to be kosher is unlikely to actually happen.

Why would you need דרישה וחקירה? It’s talking about when they’re giving first hand uncomplicated information, I shechted this meat, I was menaker, etc.

That is NOT the same thing as saying “it’s kosher” which can mean blessed by a rabbi, or I shechted the cow, and anything in between.

Yet he has no system in place to actually provide it.
