Can u explain or has it been explained in a diff thread? I just did 1k on AP with amex MB plat.
It's the common stmt in the FR thread. Ppl believe there is a correlation btw using AP and FRs. IMO, it's overblown.

When the F/R rep told me this was initiated due to Amazon Payments transactions, I would tend to believe that Amazon Payments was the trigger.  Correlation proven (unless the rep was lying to me).

I opened an AMEX card and spent a total of $1000 in about a week over 2 transactions on two different cards, along with a handful of other small transactions.  Two days later I got a voicemail and another voicemail the next day from the F/R department asking to call them back.  When I called back, the interview revolved mostly around what I was doing with Amazon Payments.  I asked if the money I spent at AP is what caused this interview and he said yes.

I believe I was the first to report it, and the rep explicitly referred to those payments. Overblown I think it is not.

Had a similar call.
