Hi there,

I'm looking to rent a car for a week with a friend from June 14 - 24. I'm 19 and my friend is 20. We are both responsible drivers and have been licensed for 2+ years. We're having a hard time finding a car rental company that will rent to us. Can anybody suggest how to go about doing this? We don't mind paying a fee (although we'd prefer not to), since at this point we're pretty desperate to find something. I was able to make a reservation through USAA with Hertz, but then I called up the local Israel branch and they said their minimum age is 21, so I cancelled the reservation. I've heard there might be ways around this? I've also heard there might be small mom-and-pop rental agencies that will rent to 19 and 20 year-olds. Can somebody suggest a place? Thanks very much for your help.

Thanks... I've searched but nothing came up that's useful. It looks like there may be some small rental agencies that will do it, but I can't find their names. Any suggestions?

Back in my day there was a place called Supercar (Hoffman) that would rent to 18 year-olds (with a permit

there is a rental in Kiriat Sefer that will rent , if you interested , PM after shabbos and i will find the # for you

AFAIK they don't do it anymore.

just thinking about it, i know someone that rented in a place called אזור - between chulon and kfar chabad. and the rental company is called הילוך ששי and he was 19 when he rented it.

contrary to what it says (or doesnt say) my friend rented there and i was in that car as well, so im talking 1st hand.

theres a place on rechov yirmiyahu right next to avis that does. I rented there about 4 yrs ago so cant say forsure that they're still there

I've rented in Israel when I was 18. Well actually I was 17 but good thing they read the month and day backwards in Israel

But that was quite a few years ago.

Seems times have changed lol, Things are lax there...they don't card for alcohol there-depends I guess where you go (and I looked 15 when I was buying there) yet I just got carded for buying a lotto ticket here in the states...

Wonder if there are any lenient car rentals places.
