Mounting Ipod Touch 4g as disk / Data recovery options

I am trying to help someone recover an Ipod touch 4g which was reset. I tried mounting as a disk but it sems like from 4g and on it is a no-go. Anyone have a way to recover datafrom such an ipod (mainly photos/videos).
