Fully refundable ticket
« on: June 01, 2012, 05:41:40 PM »
I need to book a fully refundable ticket from NY to GRU which I will definitly cancel and was wondering what the safest way to do it is. I am booking the ticket just for visa purposes to Brazil and will then cancel.

( if you were wondering why I do not use my real ticket for the visa, I am going in thru Peru and therefore for the visa I have heard that they require yellow fever vaccine as I am originating in a YF risk area)

Just put a booking on hold with UA and send yourself the itinerary. That always works for visas

Was afraid they would double check the booking as they ask for the ticket number etc but I guess they are not the KGB

UA does not put tickets on hold, but you can make a reservation with delta and then even if they would want to track it, it dosent say anywhere its only a reservation so they would think its already ticketed.

when you say reserve you mean I should ask them to put it on hold? Will they need a credit card?

true I just did it with them once I was on the phone.

I went in this morning to the consulate, they did not even take the paper they just looked at the email for a second and gave it back to us.
