They were at LGA, already booked on an LCC who cancelled their flight and refused to rebook on another airline.  Was able to put together a CO ticket in the nick of time.

Booked online at T-30, wasn't ticketed by T-20 but they were at the counter waiting with a rep, finally a phone rep manually ticketed at about T-15.
It did that the flight was slightly delayed though.

It would be nice to add whether reward or not, and if reward, which one.

I booked also with AAdvantage 46 mins to departure (I say here, and I mean also in my first message, quoting the minutes to the flight, when initiating the booking, not when finalizing).

While at it, AAdvantage, took 2.5 month to issue a ticket with BA.
I reminded them weekly.

On the day of departure there was some kind of natural disaster, and waited over 2 hours for someone to pick up the phone, and issue the ticket.

Does airport agent rebooking count?

Had a flight booked after it was scheduled to leave.
My flight was cancelled and the only other flight that was going to arrive that day had closed its doors.

Being that there was a bigwig supposed to be on my flight, they held the plane.
Not sure how but I said the right thing in the right place at the right time and got rebooked as well.

The regular agents were amazed as officially once the door closes, they're not supposed to reopen.

i was once traveling from H.K. to London on Pan Am with a stop in India , on the runway the captain made an announcement  that we would be delayed 10-12 hours -- i was in first class -- traveling  on at that time --the only kind of ticket -a paid one--  i had a meting i had to attend in London  -- i saw another Pan Am flight on the next runway , found out it too was going to London, i requested that i be allowed to change planes --they let  me get off the plane -- walk  across the runway ( escorted ) and board the flight -- no security -no body search not even a boarding pass -only question i was asked --if i wanted a glass of cold  champagne this was back in 1982 or 1983

Nice !

However once you are on a plane, you are already "clean" so additional searches aren't needed.

I traveled a short while ago from BRU-FRA-JFK, and only in BRU I went through security, but not in FRA.

Domestic I booked at the ticket counter after everyone rise had boarded already PHL-MIA it was probably 5 minutes to departure luckily it was a empty airport and a nice ticket agent who told them to holds open the door for me (and sold me a ticket after everyone else had boarded way less than a half hour prior to departure)
