I'm lending my old car to a relative for two months and I'm worried about my insurance premiums if he gets into an accident. I’m making him get non-owner's insurance, but I’m wondering would his non-owner's insurance cover liability without affecting my policy? I'm not concerned about damage to my car, just the liability. Would my insurance still go up, or would his policy handle it?

(I’ve called GEICO a few times, but their reps gave me conflicting answers.)
To solve that issue. Remove it from your policy. And only have him on the car with his own policy.
Title can stay. But may need new registration and plates. Unless there's a way to transition without the need for the whole process of getting new plates and registration. Though it may be worth it.

Location/Length/Age?

Don't be complacent. Compare quotes from other companies. I just switched from GEICO to progressive and saved almost 30% for a 6 month period.

Any agent will do that for you. As long as they don't work for a specific company.

A friend of mine was involved in a side-swipe accident while driving a Hertz rental car, and had no liability insurance. The damages seemed very minor $100-$500 at most (minor paint). Is there any way to challenge the situation? He’s worried his rates will go up if he shares his auto insurance info, but he also doesn’t want to deal with complications from Hertz.

Yes it's high, but matches what I'm paying now with GEICO for 3 cars and 5 drivers in NJ: $6.4K/yr after a renewal increase of 20% this month. I shopped around with a bunch of different car insurance companies last week and Geico still came in the lowest. I think "high"  is the new normal.

If parked car is hit in NJ and police report is made can insurance go up even though car is parked (assuming other person that was driving that hit it is present)?

Also any reasonable and honest collision shops in Lakewood that do good work?

so basically if you do a one pay lease and car gets totaled during the lease period the insurance company will pay back the dealer or financer the value of the car
and you are now stuck without a car and no payments?

You already answered the question. You risk losing all the money you put in upfront.

I see thanks
so there is no situation where you get any part of the insurance payout with a one pay lease?
I guess this an advantage of a month to month lease has over a one pay lease where you would not have to pay the remaining payments on the the lease term?
