I recently saw someone save 30% from their Geico in FL.
Who did they switch to?

Where can you find a list of carriers for your state?

5 Minute Insure gave the client Travelers.

All available carriers in that state are searched and the companies that are willing to give a quote are returned. There are times that a certain carrier that is available in the state won't return a quote based due to underwriting information that has been entered or found on the prospect.

There's no way this covers "all available carriers". Car insurance is a commodity product with a negative switching cost. The insurance companies know that making price shopping easy for consumers is shooting themselves in the foot. This website probably has a few companies participating at most, and is more likely to lose carriers than add

Most carriers benefit by being on the comparison site, while some still prefer only selling direct.

This is EXTREMELY similar to the OTA (Online Travel Agency) like Expedia, where most carriers benefit from being searched against many other carriers. Having said this, Southwest Airlines has never submitted to the OTA and is still only available directly. In theory, United Airlines loses out by being on Expedia, however, United obviously sees that they lose more by not being on Expedia.

Back to insurance, most companies allow themselves to be compared against other companies.

It's nothing like an OTA. Insurance uses low rates to get people in the door and banks on renewals, not in their interest to make switching effortless.

Most insurance companies won't know what your premium is going to be till they run your credit, insurance history and run your license

I doubt these websites are giving an accurate quote, it's probably a low ball quote

Pay out of pocket. Your insurance company might forgive 1 accident but probably not 2.
In that case, you'll likely be paying hundreds more on the policy.

1 - Does a Bachur in Yeshiva/daughter in seminary have to be added if they only come home for off-Shabbosos & Yomtov time?
2 - Is there a good agent in LKWD who can help get the best rate for auto insurance with/without bundling home insurance in?
Thanks.

If they don't live at home, I don't think they need to be added YMMV. When signing up for auto insurance, make sure you know what coverage you're getting, and what your deductibles are.

Most companies allow you to add a "Student" to your policy without an additional cost.
(For your child who is a student and does not live at home anymore)
In the best case scenario, it could bring down your policy cost.
