My car was totalled after accident. Insurance is giving me a valuation quote 1100 less than what I bought the car for a few months citing prior damages on the car. I'm not sure whether those damages are actually worth that much or not. Any thoughts on if there is room to negotiate?

You can always negotiate (convince them). Make sure they include taxes and title fees.
Only on DDF does 24/6 mean 24/5/half/half

Thanks !
Any success stories on things that have worked.
They have included taxes already
Not sure about title fees though

My son's car was recently totalled. They deducted for tires and worn seats. He had the receipt for the tires he just replaced and for the seats he told them he was the only one 99% of the time in the car. The seats looked new. They made adjustments for both.

Your insurance or the other party? Who was at fault?

You are not obligated to accept their offer, you can definitely negotiate with them.

A relative recently go a really low offer from insurance, at first they were willing to gove him and extra few hundred, but after agruing and asking to deal with someone else, they offered an additional $2k(+tax) to settle. At this point it's still a low offer, so he may get a private adjuster to fight for another few $k.

I know someone who got another $7k with a private adjuster, but that was when the car market was much hotter.

All that being said, the car market has been cooling down, so it really makes sense that your car is worth less than it was a few months ago.
I wonder what people who type "u" instead of "you" do with all their free time.

In NYS I believe they have 3 options on how to evaluate your car. Start with asking them how exactly they came to that conclusion. Which cars did they look at to estimate the value of your car.
I had this in 2019 with Ameriprise. I looked at each car that they compared it to. One of them was a different trim with significant damage on the driver's side door. I had them remove that from the comparison and compare it to something more accurate. I also got the NYS Dept of Financial Services involved. I think my quote went up around 20% after all was said and done.
They kicked me off the insurance 8 months later.

In Dec 22 I moved from liberty mutual to esurance, when I canceled LM they had me fill out a form which I accidentally dated for Dec 21. A few days later I got a check with a refund for the full policy from Dec 21 to Dec 22. A few days later I realized that my registration and license are suspended bcs of insurance lapse. I have since tried to fix this but LM doesn't care and the DMW couldn't care less. Anything I can do? Or if anyone knows someone who deals with insurance lapse?

They suspended your license & reg because of a lapse that in theory is no longer in lapse?

I don't think there is much you can do, you may need to pay a fine

Esurance didn't give you a cancelation document to send to LM? Usually the new insurance will give you cancelation document to send
