Anyone know anything about Chagall Bistro?
Their having a food and wine paring event on June 9th which sounds intriguing.

"4 course French dinner will be paired with 8 wines"
With all these dishes I wouldn't be able to pronounce if my life depended on it.
To name some..
Borgo Realle Prosseco
Chilled Vichyssoise Veloute

The first is a wine, not a dish.  The 2nd is a soup (although veloute is a sauce base) served cold.
I have heard mixed reviews on Chagall.  These meals are interesting and they are coming around more frequently recently.  Is this tied to a tzedakkah or just the restaurant profiting? Some of these food/wine pairing dinners are to raise money for tzedakkah and if you can find one for a cause you believe in go for it.

see this quick review by me (i'm not an extremely eclectic eater, so if u are, and eat pickly fish or foies gras, u may like it more) and the posts before from others. I do know some people who love the place, but as a normal guy who likes a good steak, sushi/raw fish but not the more wierd stuff, i was not impressed. http://forums.dansdeals.com/index.php?topic=20953.msg730915#msg730915

I don't think it's tied to any Tzedakah, but that doesn't mean it can't be a form of tzedakah too. For all I know the one arranging this wine pairing event maybe doing this for Parnosoh so that he/they doesn't need to come onto Tzedakah.... Something to think about.

As an extremely eclectic eater- I still didn't really enjoy the place... ambiance is cool but somehow I wasn't impressed with the taste of the food...
Though, for mushroom fans- their sauteed mushroom side is absolutely delicious, buttery an flavorful. Great value- I think it's around $8 and has more than 5 varieties of mushrooms..

I wasnt saying that you shouldnt do it if its not a tzedakah but its easier to justify spending this kind of money on a meal if you know that some of the proceeds are benefiting a tzedakah.

Hi all!!

I want to spend at least two weeks this summer with my new wife trying the best Kosher food that’s not near the east coast.
We have the Southwest Companion Pass and plan on flying around and basically eating the best Kosher food out there.

Top 8 you would recommend or any tips would be appreciated!
(Herzog winery is our first stop BTW)

LA, ORD, and NYC should keep you busy for a while ;)

Just because my first 10 answers aren't Le Marais to every restaurant question?

Beyond Cali, NY, and Chicago- Miami has the next best selection of Kosher Restaurants in the US (line the OP was looking for). I dont see whats so egregious about that comment to prompt a response like that.

Apparently you missed the winky face in my post. Was meant as a joke since Dan always complains about the restaurant situation in MIA.

(I would really love Dans input on this! :)
Where else can i get input from the masters on this?)

Somewhere different = Better?

The only places you'll find more than a single good eatery are Miami and LA. Neither are great cities to be and I doubt either has food worth flying in for. Shallots in Chicago is the only place that stands a chance at that.
