When I was really young, I remember playing a game called nibbles-which was basically the same as the snakes game on the old Nokia phones.

Keen came out a few years after the other ones.

+1, Commander Keen was pretty awesome. I vaguely remember my dad locking access to it with some DOS access control program. Twas the first program I remember figuring out how to circumvent :P

Oh boy, I'm thinking back now and the line between DOS and Windows games is starting to blur in my mind. Keen leads me to Duke Nukem, then I drift to Wolfenstein and so on. Although perhaps my earliest DOS 'gaming' memories were all The Learning Company titles.

Then there are all the EA Sports franchises, which were DOS till around '96, though Madden was almost never released for PC back then. But I remember playing NHL 95 to death, and the original Need for Speed kept me busy too.

Age of empires?
I loved Age of the Kings, until my father banned it because he felt it was too violent. :(
