From his earlier posts on this site it seems he prefers cash to miles (despite the higher resale value of miles), maybe that has since changed.

I don't think we have any reason to believe US bank will suddenly have a mileage partner anytime soon.

You are correct.

P.S. I have seen reports that you have to be within us banks footprint in order to be approved for their products.

is that just for their bank account or will that affect these cards as well?

and at what stage does it stop you are you able to apply but it will just be declined, or will it not go through at all?
