Capital One No Hassle Miles
« on: February 02, 2010, 10:00:43 PM »
Anyone has had any experience with the Capital One No Hassle Miles?
Anyone know if they can be transferred into airline miles, and if yes at what rate?
Is it a good program all in all?
Thanks.

They can't transfer into real miles, and it's an overall terrible program.

The only redeeming factor is no forex fees.

I thought only the shwab card? Capital one also doesn't charge international fees?

Neither charge forex fees.

Mind you that I'd pay the AMEX forex fees just for the various AMEX purchase protections when traveling.
Plus you also get Starpoints!

I actually have the No hassle 'cash', (which i hate since they refused to raise me from $500 for over 2 years already). So can i confirm that there is no foreign fee?
If the aforementioned is right, why does everyone talk about the shwab card, and not this one?

Because Schwab gives 2% to your brokerage account, Capital One gives less than 1%.

You need to open a Schwab brokerage account to get the 2% and have it deposited there.

Because Schwab gives 2% to your brokerage account, Capital One gives less than 1%.

My Cap1 gives me 1% plus an extra 1/4% yr end and I can have it taken off my statement from what I owe. plus I always end up with a better exchange rate then my friend who used his Amex. So then its like 1 1/2 % savings
