There's a huge difference bet. Bloomingdale's and Macy's, if you sell crap of course you don't want it back.
???

You totally missed the boat. My point was that its a huge C"H despite the fact that store policy allows it.

It has nothing to do with what the store sells, how does that get in the picture?
Why would it make any difference to a  macy's cashier over a bloomingdales cashier?

Bloomingdale's cashier knows that I paid $500 for them so I expect them to last a while, Macy's knows I paid $49 so thats what you get for that price.

Payless has this policy too.  If the shoes get damaged or worn, I just bring them back in and swap them for a new pair, no questions asked...

I should note that I only use this policy when there is actual damage, not for standard wear and tear.  Although I wouldn't judge people who do.  The store has the policy for a reason, they'll make money either way.  If not for this policy, I don't know if I would buy from Payless as their quality tends to be inline with their prices...

Although u are only buying a $500 pair of shoes KNOWING you will return them for a new pair. Would ou pay that much if you actually had to keep them at $500 and then buy a new pair after they are worn?? these store are not in the biz of lending out clothes for free then having ppl return them when they are done with them, ..I know someone who did this at nordstroms needless to say I feel uncomfterable with it and stopped letting her know when they had certain items on sale since I knew she would use them then return them since she's done with them. I buy at nordstroms for thier cs but u can't abuse it.

Back on topic...I bought a pair of shoes from Clark's in Malcha and they told me Clark's has a lifetime guarantee for anything fixable. (They explained that to mean if it's worn out beyond repair, no can do, but anything else like reblackening, new heels, new sole, even scuffs.) In other words, it's worthwhile to get regular tuneups so they never get too far gone. I would never have paid that much if not for that (750nis i think, regular 900).

I bought a pair of clarks at Clarks in shrewsbury. Any more info about this refurbishment program? They've gotten very worn out even though I rotate shoes often

I don't think they have a lifetime warranty in the USA, you need to contact Resole America*, as per this answer on their FAQ page.

*In any case, it seems that's just a re-sole service, not a full refurbishment, please CMIIW.

Sick. He's eventually going to kill it for the rest of us, especially now that Sears owns them...

A shame... I'm surprised they haven't flagged him yet, considering he's not buying just returning.

I don't know what the deal is in the US, but why don't you just walk into a store and ask?

When I return a used item, that I feel should have lasted longer, I ship it to them, and no C"H.

Mephisto.

The shoes are expensive, but super comfortable, and they'll resole them for a fee a fraction of the original cost.  And the shoes last.
