I've never had the Premier Gold card before. As a matter of fact I've never had any Amex card with membership rewards. I currently have their blue cash everyday and am an AU on the Blue Sky card.

However, when I follow Dan's link for the Premier Gold card, it doesn't give me any bonus offer. Just a first year annual fee waiver. There's red letters on the top of the page that says, "You have been identified as a current American Express Card Member. You may have seen an offer advertised for this product previously, but the offer is not available to current American Express Card Members."

Is there just no bonus offer right now or is this just for everybody?

Someone probably used your PC to log in to an Amex account.
Clear the history or open an incognito page and your good to go...

Thanks. That worked. Looks like the current public offer is 25k for 2k of spending. I have an old mailer for 50k for 1k of spending but it expired on 3/31/2014. Do you think they'll allow it? Lastly, can MR points be combined for spouses?

Thanks

Online I'm sure it won't work, you can try via phone and you might be lucky.

My PRG is coming up to the anniversary date next month.  I want to avoid paying the AF but I want to keep my MR points.  Should I ask to downgrade to an AMEX Everyday card or Blue or what???  Would I be better off if I applied now and hope to get the sign-up bonus and then just cancel PRG?  TIA

If you want to keep the MR, you need to apply for a card that gives you MR.  Everyday card gives you Dollar Rewards, not MR. If you ask them for an incentive to keep the card open for another year, it might be worth paying the AF.

When downgrading, you will not be able to transfer out until you get a "higher earning" MR card. Just something to keep in mind.

My Mistake. I meant Blue Preferred.
