This is technical, but here goes: AFAIK there's no way for an S3 to properly activate by itself to get 3g, which means you need to program it manually. To get the correct setting to program with, you need to use a 3g phone (the donor phone) to get the correct settings and then duplicate them on the s3. This process may or may not be legal, depending on who you ask and how you interpret the wording of the law.
The easiest thing is probably to have someone do it for you. Any PagePlus dealer who knows how to program phones might be able to do it. If you want someone who can do it remotely for relatively cheap, I can try to get the contact info.
