Milk Street Cafe is only downtown option (not cholov yisrael). Check their hours since they are closed on Sunday and early during the week.

The milk street cafe is there. Its delicious. The wiki recommends hot pastrami on ciabbata, with avacado, cole slaw, pickled onions, and chipotle sauce.

Yes. Swan boat is nice as well.

They also have excellent meat and sushi sections.
Save your time, I don't answer PM. Post it in the forum and a dedicated DDF'er will get back to you as soon as possible.

Rumor is that butcherie is selling some basics out of the old rubins location

So is that all there is these days?

What's with stop & shop? I remember being at one with a nice kosher selection a few years back, is that still around?

The star market on commonwealth ave, and the stop and shop on everett each have a kosher section. Pretty overpriced and hit/miss, but its something if you're desperate.

Quote from:
as published on Butcherie's Facebook page  https://www.facebook.com/butcherie/:

"We are happy to announce we will be moving (temporarily) to Rubin's location (500 Harvard St, Brookline, MA 02446) selling meat, dairy, challah and pastries starting tomorrow August 18 through the end of the month. Many thanks to Cafe Eilat and Andrew's for opening your doors to us and helping in this trying moments and a world of gratitude to our dear customers for supporting us as well...

...We are still working hard to open and will post the hours when become available.
We should open by noon time tomorrow, Thursday, August 18, and be open until 6 pm. Friday we will be open from 7 am until 2 pm
Quote from:
...We, at FOA, have ALL of them!  And we absolutely REFUSE to take advantage of the temporary de facto monopoly situation by raising prices!  If anything, you will be amazed at how good our deals are!

Oh...and one more thing:  For a long time, we have often been asked about acquiring pre-made kugels.  Up to now, we have avoided getting involved with that.  Now, however, as there has been no other outlet, we have yielded to popular demand and found a way to not only provide Meal Mart potato kugels, but to do it at our typically low prices!  If there is enough of an interest, we might even continue this AFTER the Butcherie re-opens.  The one catch with this, however, is that they MUST be ordered well in advance, as we are very much limited in our space.

If anyone on the list is interested in ANY of the aforementioned items (or to discuss other special areas of interest where we might, possibly, be able to accommodate you), please be in touch with us, preferably during our famous community service hours of 10 p.m. to midnight, at 617-731-8316.

Thanks to all for your patience and forbearance in reading and considering all this.

Sincerely,
Ira Axelrod,
President,
FOA Foods
