How far is the Hyatt House in Waltham from the city? Is it worth staying there or is it way to far?
Depends on what you are doing here.  If you have business along 128, it would be great.  If you are here for tourist stuff, then it would be a fine place to sleep, but not a place to come and go during the day.   We stayed there a few years ago during house renovation for a few days.  Big rooms. Kind of dated.  But typical HH.

we would be staying there to visit Boston.
We wouldn't not need to be in and out but just as a base of operations to sleep mostly.
How far to the tourist attractions? how far to kosher food area?

30 minutes either to the attractions (Downtown) or to the kosher food, but also 30 minutes between them.  If rush hour, would double those times.

if your going during the academic year, Brandeis University has Loui's Deli which makes great soups and sandwiches. They also sell baked goids, baked fresh every morning. The regular kosher dining is also open to the general public (as are most of the universities).

If they stay open they should definitely change their name from Taam China to Pi Ping Taam

Thankfully I only went to their other location when that was open a few years back. Terrible. Another decent restaurant option going away.
Fair warning - Any PMs sent in response to forum posts are fair game for ridicule in public.

Majority of families in the modern orthodox shuls here, at least in Newton, eat out in non-kosher restaurants.  No wonder the kosher places can’t thrive here — no community base to support them.  Sad.

"Regarding Taam China in Boston, the Hashgacha just posted the following statement:

Last night, I attended the meeting of the Brookline Board of Selectmen.

They were convinced beyond doubt that Taam China is of great importance to the Jewish community in Greater Boston & beyond. Also, the Brookline Police detectives confirmed that they had no indication or reason to believe that anyone else in the restaurant was involved in any way, or had any knowledge of any criminal activity. If anything, the opposite was true. Workers were victims of the crimes. They also confirmed that all recordings ended months ago, and that all devices were removed.

The lawyer representing the business confirmed that as of today, Andy Chung was removed from the corporate papers, as director & manager of the business. The papers now list the new owner. It was also mentioned that Andy has a court restraining order, and effectively, cannot approach within 100 yards of the store. The personal deplorable acts of this individual are not related to the business, which today employs a dozen hardworking innocent men & women, besides all the Mashgichim.

In view of this all, the Selectmen unanimously voted to allow the store to continue operating, while they are in a state of transition, seeking a new English speaking manager, and continuing the legal transferal of ownership. The sign Taam China was removed from the store, and soon will be replaced with a new name.

We are greatly saddened by the scandal at Taam China. It is unfortunate to see this happen in a Kosher restaurant that served our community for nearly 20 years. However, it is also important for the community to rest assured that the high Kashruth standards were never affected or compromised in any way, and BeEzrat Hashem, throughout the period of transition, Kashruth Supervision will remain in full effect. Please continue to patronize our only Chinese restaurant!!!

As one of my Boston friends summarized:

As early as next week, Taam China can be owned not by Andy Chung but by a Montana LLC owned in part by Offshore Photoimaging Fund II LP, a Cyprus partnership, and in part by Forcible Touching Opportunities Limited, an LLC registered in the Bailiwick of Geurnsey.  Shares in these entities could be owned by anyone, (but mainly Andy Chung).
