I have 60k flying club miles from BOA virgin atlantic amex card and and just saw the annual fee due $90, no free first year. I know it is not good but I will try to call BOA to cancel the card to avoid the $90 annual fee.
I applied for this cos I heared it can covert to HILTON 1:2 ,so I would get 120k hilton points if I transfer to hilton but never did I know that HILTON points are so worthless unlike Hyatt, marriot or priority club points. Most hotels and many cities don't have award points booking availability and those that accept points for room wants about 50k hilton points for a night at room costing $140 a night.
The flying club miles is not useful for VIRGIN ATLANTIC flights due to HUGE fuel surcharges. when you compare the miles plus huge fuel surcharge in cash, it is much better paying in full with cash cos cash rate and miles plus fuel surcharge is SAME!
So what to do with the flying club miles? is transfer to HILTON still worth it?
thanks
