I believe it is the original thickness as the current version of card is already metal.

It really depends on the rep you speak with. They can approve any airline charges.

Just got my AF on my Marriott boundless and thinking of upgrading to the Ritz.
1. Will I get refunded the $95 and charged later for the Ritz or will they pro-rate it?
2. Will they remove the 35K certificate from my account?
3. Will I get the 85K certificate when the AF posts or do I need to wait a year?

Regarding the travel credit, can it be applied to a flight purchase? Do they ask for any proof of what the purchase is?

Probably the boundless, which currently offers 5 50K certificates as a SUB.

I just applied for the Amex Marriott Bonvoy Business Credit Card - and looking to get the Bonvoy Boundless Credit Card Visa. After 1 year, I plan to upgrade to the Ritz Carlton. Would that be possible? Thank you!

SUB=Sign up bonus.
You won’t be eligible for the SUB on the Boundless card if you get a bonus on the Marriott Amex within the past 24 months, but you can still get it to upgrade to the Ritz after a year.

So to clarify there is no way of getting the 85k in year 2 after opening the marriott card and upgrading after the first 12 months? If that's true why would anyone pay the higher fee for year number 2 just wait until 24 months so you can upgrade before the renewal date and then get the 85k night?

Personally i was told i couldn't upgrade until the actual day of renewal by which point i already got the 35k night but they are telling me i will still get the 85k as well which i doubt but i don't see any reason to pay the higher fee until you get the 85k

The 85K comes after a year of upgrading to the Ritz, regardless of when you do it.

I'm not sure that's true .. my friend got it right away after upgrading only difference was he had the marriott card for years sonwas able to upgrade before the renewal date but he definitely got the 85k for the first year right away after upgrading
