Update: 6/16/15:
So I smed chase again and got the same response, denying to match to 140k. I then called Chase and got a very nice rep who tried to match it for me but was unsuccessful. It said in her system that they were only matching to 140k credit cards that were applied before April 30th. I applied May 14th. She then gave me 5k Ritz points as a courtesy and told me to try to call Ritz Rewards and ask them to replace my 2 free nights with the equivalent amount of points (probably not 140k). I did just that and the Ritz rep said she cannot do that. Blah blah.....
This really sucks <img src="http://s3.amazonaws.com/tapatalk-emoji/emoji35.png" />

Update: 3/23/15: Many recent reports of successful match to 140k offer via SM
Updated link: https://creditcards.chase.com/credit-cards/ritz-carlton-card.aspx
Standard offer is for 2 free nights at Ritz Cat 1-4 which is not too bad either.

Update 2/9/15: DEAD
current offer  140k bonus points +$300 airline credit annual fee 395 not waived
link https://www.theritzcarltonrewardscard.com/offer140k

To get $300 airline credit call 1-855-896-2222
don't buy gift cards from Chase affiliated airlines (United, SW..)
As Chase may be able to see what you purchased

JetBlue seat upgrades and delta seat upgrades worked for me.
Airline GC are very YMMV as there are reports of chase asking for receipts.
(Seat upgrades are officially covered in the T & C.)

You can get more than half of the $395 AF back by buying AA GC & selling them?

Thanks

What is the chance I will get blacklisted? I don't really want to cancel it, but I cannot afford to pay the $400, would they waive it if I give them that ultimatum?

No offense but since you essentially can get $600 in airline credit (which can be easily be sold to offset the fee)the first year I have a hard time understanding the lack of affordability.

Firstly, I do not think I can get the $300 from 2014, I asked them to expedite it but they said I will have to call back in a few days, after they get more info from Ritz. Secondly, $600 in airline certificates ($500 resale value) can takes months to sell. Thirdly, I do not even know if Chase will reimburse GCs. Fourth, $500 is better than $100.

Standard case with co-brand cards.

Call back in 2 days, and you'll be able to get it expidited and have it early next week. That should leave you with 10 days to work.

Thirdly, I do not even know if Chase will reimburse GCs.

I do know (at least with AA cards)

I was instantly approved on Thursday morning. But because it's a co-brand my account is still not set up. I would recommend anyone applying for this card to first set up a ritz Carlton rewards account and then apply using that account #.

And for the $300 credit, I plan on booking southwest tix to Mexico/carribian with points. I would charge the 65$ of fees per ticket on this card( 5 tickets). I would then call chase for the $300 credit and then cancel the flight. Any advice on whether or not that would work?

You can get the card number if the account is showing online.

If you click to send a new secure message and select an inquiry about a credit card it gives you a dropdown with the cards. Right click on the dropdown and click "Inspect Element" (at least in Chrome) and it will show you the full account number in the <option> tag.

Interesting...But you don't have the exp or security code which are usually required for online purchases.

True. If you can guess the security code, that would be impressive.
