Update: 6/16/15:
So I smed chase again and got the same response, denying to match to 140k. I then called Chase and got a very nice rep who tried to match it for me but was unsuccessful. It said in her system that they were only matching to 140k credit cards that were applied before April 30th. I applied May 14th. She then gave me 5k Ritz points as a courtesy and told me to try to call Ritz Rewards and ask them to replace my 2 free nights with the equivalent amount of points (probably not 140k). I did just that and the Ritz rep said she cannot do that. Blah blah.....
This really sucks <img src="http://s3.amazonaws.com/tapatalk-emoji/emoji35.png" />

Update: 3/23/15: Many recent reports of successful match to 140k offer via SM
Updated link: https://creditcards.chase.com/credit-cards/ritz-carlton-card.aspx
Standard offer is for 2 free nights at Ritz Cat 1-4 which is not too bad either.

Update 2/9/15: DEAD
current offer  140k bonus points +$300 airline credit annual fee 395 not waived
link https://www.theritzcarltonrewardscard.com/offer140k

To get $300 airline credit call 1-855-896-2222
don't buy gift cards from Chase affiliated airlines (United, SW..)
As Chase may be able to see what you purchased

JetBlue seat upgrades and delta seat upgrades worked for me.
Airline GC are very YMMV as there are reports of chase asking for receipts.
(Seat upgrades are officially covered in the T & C.)

Thanks. The link above takes me to a registration for an Amex card, so not sure if I am doing anything wrong. Would love to make a purchase on the card before the end of the year, so any advice would be extremely helpful! Thanks

Ty :) Ended up buying gift cards, and they said I can reimbursed for it, so I guess it's not showing up as a gift card. The person I spoke with said that even though my purchase was made in 2014, since it won't post until 2015, it will not count as a 2014 purchase. Hope it's ymmv and I'll try again tomorrow....

I was told the same thing, that a credit posted in 2015 for a 2014 charge will count towards 2015. can anyone confirm one way or another?

i spoke to a rep earlier who told me that because it was spent in 2014 I would get credited for 2014 I asked multiple times same rep and they confirmed it, I don't know why it has anything to do with miles varying...?

I just called to have them refund the purchase of a $100 AA gift card (I told him it was Club Passes), and the rep wanted me to provide some sort of proof that it was an incidental, he said I could either provide a receipt or he could contact the airline. Obviously I don't want him to contact AA. I plan to call back later and hope the next rep doesn't give me any trouble.  If not I'll try to SM Chase.

Anyone else experience something like this?

@rng I successfully did a delta pggm and got my $300 credit. I would advise booking a delta flight shortly after midnight and buying EC seats. Then you have almost 48 hours to cancel. As soon as the EC charge posts, call chase for a refund. You should have no problem "beating" the delta refund. Alternatively, book a refundable JetBlue ticket for more than $300. Runnergirl was told by a chase rep that they can't tell what JetBlue charges are for.

With this card, I pay $395 AF in first month but I get 140K marriot or Ritz points that is good for  6 nights at mid category marriot hotels AND If I buy $300 worth of airline GCs I get $300 credit? AF comes to about $95 after the $300 credit?

I can sell the  $300 airline GC for  about $250 to GC sites?

You are saying I get another $300 credit in early 2016 and don't have to pay $395 AF?

Thanks for your time !
