Why take the chance? Is it that big of a deal to do the spend?

for some its not so simple and every dollar less needed to spend makes life easier

Then don't do the spend and see how simple it will be to get the bonus when the spend is missed.

I don't get all this needless hocking. Seat assignment officially count according to the T & C. Book a refundable JetBlue flight. Buy seat upgrades. Call chase and get your $300 credit. Cancel the flight. Zeh hoo! STOP BUYING GC AND HOPING CHASE DOESNT REALIZE!

I've never been A/A'd by Chase but from what I've heard they're much worse than Amex which is why people aren't as worried about the PGGM on the Plat.

I of course want to open this card - but need to understand is refundable only option? it seems like the GCs are out.... anything else?

Overlooked benefit: unlimited visits to Loungeclub lounges! You have to call and ask them to send you the card. Idk if your membership gets canceled when you cancel the card(i.e. With the plat, amex cancels the priority pass right away) data points, anyone?

Btw I used my Loungeclub from INk on my trip to thailand

I thought the Loungeclub is only 2x per year? At least I think that's what it is for Chase ink Bold CMIIW...

Many have applied through this link only to find the application was assigned to a different promo for 2 free nights instead of points. Calling JP Morgan Chase CS has indicated they are aware of this issue and CSRs are expecting the 140k points to be honored but no one in this situation has actually received the 140k points as of Dec 28, 2014.

Idk if the Loungeclub comes automatically or not. When I asked about it, the rep made it sound like it's something you have to request.
With iNk you only get 2 passes. (Though each AU also gets so I made 5 AU and 5 more loungeclubs

With the ritz card you get unlimited visits until the card expires.
I didn't go to the Thai Lounge.
(I plan on writing a trip report when I have time-dtw-JFK-jnb-cpt-jnb-bkk-cnx-dmk-sin-hkg-ewr basically all on one UA 80k ticket!)
