Update: 6/16/15:
So I smed chase again and got the same response, denying to match to 140k. I then called Chase and got a very nice rep who tried to match it for me but was unsuccessful. It said in her system that they were only matching to 140k credit cards that were applied before April 30th. I applied May 14th. She then gave me 5k Ritz points as a courtesy and told me to try to call Ritz Rewards and ask them to replace my 2 free nights with the equivalent amount of points (probably not 140k). I did just that and the Ritz rep said she cannot do that. Blah blah.....
This really sucks <img src="http://s3.amazonaws.com/tapatalk-emoji/emoji35.png" />

Update: 3/23/15: Many recent reports of successful match to 140k offer via SM
Updated link: https://creditcards.chase.com/credit-cards/ritz-carlton-card.aspx
Standard offer is for 2 free nights at Ritz Cat 1-4 which is not too bad either.

Update 2/9/15: DEAD
current offer  140k bonus points +$300 airline credit annual fee 395 not waived
link https://www.theritzcarltonrewardscard.com/offer140k

To get $300 airline credit call 1-855-896-2222
don't buy gift cards from Chase affiliated airlines (United, SW..)
As Chase may be able to see what you purchased

JetBlue seat upgrades and delta seat upgrades worked for me.
Airline GC are very YMMV as there are reports of chase asking for receipts.
(Seat upgrades are officially covered in the T & C.)

Can I apply for  the Marriott 70k now and it will be consolidated to the Ritz act? (I used my Marriott number in the Ritz Carlton app)

I met the spend before the first statement closed and I only realized after they gave me the nights instead of the points and i changed it but it wont post they said until after next statement closes which will be on February 8th only.
The problem is that I have a ritz stay that I was hoping to use the points way before feb 8th, is there any solution that any of the bright people here can suggest for me?

Much appreciated!

I don't know if you can do that per se, but I know you can always book one with the other.

Change ur closing date.
They might tell you ur not allowed but fight it tooth and nail explain them why.
Emphasize that you don't mind the due date to stay the same you just want to move the closing date.

It's very easy to change the closing date, no need to fight. Here's how you do it: they officially will only change the payment due date and the payment due date is always 3 days before the statement closing date. So for example, if you want the closing date to be on the 15th of the month, ask them to make the due date the 12th and your closing date will be changed automatically to the 15th.

Usually ur due date it only changed for the next month that's chase's rule, for instance if your next due date is on the 8th and you'll change now then ur coming due date will stay the 8th and they'll only change the one after this.
Unless you "fight tooth and nail"

I've changed many due dates with chase and they all took affect immediately. Even if the rep said it won't take affect until next statement, which I've been told many times, it's just another typical case of DROPR.

Just tell them that you did it already once.
They'll say "oh lemme talk to my supervisor" & then come back saying "oh I didn't understand what you wanted sure no problem"
At least that's what happened to me.
Good luck.

So I don't understand  the difference between Ritz Carlton awards and Marriott rewards. I signed up for Marriott rewards b4 Ritz and got some points for stays, now I realized I can log into Ritz awards with my Marriott acct. So when I applied for the Ritz card I put in my Marriott rewards number since they r apparently the same?

anyway, I wanna do the flight + 7 hotel night stay as the miles professor talks about:

http://themilesprofessor.com/2014/08/21/ritz-carlton-140k-offer-marriott/

So I am confused. I had 18k Marriott points and now I just signed up for Ritz 140k with my Marriott number - so is the 140k being depositied into my Marriott act but if I want to book the points plus miles thing with Ritz (even tho its Marriott properties?!?) I need to switch my acct to Ritz??
