Update: 6/16/15:
So I smed chase again and got the same response, denying to match to 140k. I then called Chase and got a very nice rep who tried to match it for me but was unsuccessful. It said in her system that they were only matching to 140k credit cards that were applied before April 30th. I applied May 14th. She then gave me 5k Ritz points as a courtesy and told me to try to call Ritz Rewards and ask them to replace my 2 free nights with the equivalent amount of points (probably not 140k). I did just that and the Ritz rep said she cannot do that. Blah blah.....
This really sucks <img src="http://s3.amazonaws.com/tapatalk-emoji/emoji35.png" />

Update: 3/23/15: Many recent reports of successful match to 140k offer via SM
Updated link: https://creditcards.chase.com/credit-cards/ritz-carlton-card.aspx
Standard offer is for 2 free nights at Ritz Cat 1-4 which is not too bad either.

Update 2/9/15: DEAD
current offer  140k bonus points +$300 airline credit annual fee 395 not waived
link https://www.theritzcarltonrewardscard.com/offer140k

To get $300 airline credit call 1-855-896-2222
don't buy gift cards from Chase affiliated airlines (United, SW..)
As Chase may be able to see what you purchased

JetBlue seat upgrades and delta seat upgrades worked for me.
Airline GC are very YMMV as there are reports of chase asking for receipts.
(Seat upgrades are officially covered in the T & C.)

https://www.marriott.com/rewards/usepoints/morepack.mi this is the best value of Marriott points 132k UA miles+7 nights  category  1-5  for 270k Marriott
Probably, do you need 130k points? BTW, what are 140k Ritz points worth for resale? Come to think of it, this card is such a good deal! Rt to Europe or Asia  in first or business plus 7 nights in a good hotel plus $1200 spending money all for just two credit cards.

I  am still confused over this! You transfer or  exchange marriot points for  UA miles & free nights? It is  a flight & hotel stay voucher you get in exchange for your 140K Marriot points you get from this card? The voucher expires if not used within certain date? :-[

Thanks

wow that was a superb post by milesprofessor  but I wonder if the vacation package has expiration date?

Can I just  do the exchange and than save the  miles and hotel points you exchanged from the 280K  points?

I'm not sure what you mean by expiration date. You get the miles and they expire like all UA miles. As far as the hotel stay, I assume you book the nights with the package (I.e., where and when). That's how I understand it anyway.

IIRC the hotel stay must be booked within a year from when you purchase the package

+1 "unused nights will be forfeited" so if you booked you most likely cannot change it

No. That just means you can't use three nights one place and the other four in another

Would be nice if the offer is 7 nights (or whatever it is depending on property) worth  of hotel point deposited to your hotel account  and deposit of the united miles to your united account. Won't have  to worry about how to or when to use them

I'm confused? The points already are in your hotel (ritz) account. You want them to go back in there?

LOL. Then what would be the point of the deal. For them to give you free united miles? The point is you are using points for nights+miles

the miles you get by exchanging your points .

So this is actually a voucher right with expiration date?  Unlike my UA miles sitting on my UA account to use how and when I want, you don't have much control over how to or when to use because what you get is a voucher
