Update: 6/16/15:
So I smed chase again and got the same response, denying to match to 140k. I then called Chase and got a very nice rep who tried to match it for me but was unsuccessful. It said in her system that they were only matching to 140k credit cards that were applied before April 30th. I applied May 14th. She then gave me 5k Ritz points as a courtesy and told me to try to call Ritz Rewards and ask them to replace my 2 free nights with the equivalent amount of points (probably not 140k). I did just that and the Ritz rep said she cannot do that. Blah blah.....
This really sucks <img src="http://s3.amazonaws.com/tapatalk-emoji/emoji35.png" />

Update: 3/23/15: Many recent reports of successful match to 140k offer via SM
Updated link: https://creditcards.chase.com/credit-cards/ritz-carlton-card.aspx
Standard offer is for 2 free nights at Ritz Cat 1-4 which is not too bad either.

Update 2/9/15: DEAD
current offer  140k bonus points +$300 airline credit annual fee 395 not waived
link https://www.theritzcarltonrewardscard.com/offer140k

To get $300 airline credit call 1-855-896-2222
don't buy gift cards from Chase affiliated airlines (United, SW..)
As Chase may be able to see what you purchased

JetBlue seat upgrades and delta seat upgrades worked for me.
Airline GC are very YMMV as there are reports of chase asking for receipts.
(Seat upgrades are officially covered in the T & C.)

Not for me it isn't.

I did see online that there were 3 offers floating around last year and one of them was that annual fee was waived for the first year.

I understand:
1) the vacation package includes a 7 night hotel stay.
2) if u cancel the hotel stay u will receive the refund in the form of a voucher for 7 consecutive nights.
3) the voucher expires after 1 year.
Correct?

Yes. But you need to wait for it to post until you can call Chase for the credit.

From Chase website:

Travel Credit:
To request a statement credit to apply towards qualifying airline incidental Net Purchase(s) made with your Ritz-Carlton Rewards Credit Card, you must contact J.P. Morgan Priority Services at the number on the back of your Ritz-Carlton Rewards Credit Card within 4 billing cycles of the purchase date...

Though others have reported that it automatically hit their account.

Thought I read somewhere in the previous 61 pages that someone got it without calling. I may be wrong.

Your probably thinking of the post where someone applied for the 70k offer and got matched for 140k offer without calling.

If the points are already in your Ritz account, they are safe and no risk in loosing them.

i hope so, i read many in FT saying before they canceled within 60 days to get $350 fee refund, they transferred points to southwest account  to give chase zero chance for successful clawback. Marriot recently devalued their points again and also made is almost impossible to extend the points expiration? They said you can no longer extend the points expiration date by points transfer from Chase?

My 140K points are in Marriot account. Maybe I should just transfer it  another program. I don't fly southwest so wonder where to transfer to.

did you cancel the card or keeping it?

I got good use of the lounge pass during my 2 weeks trip to asia, used it 3 times in seoul and singapore and narita. Narita  and singapore lounge was the worst. Narita  was pathetic, the Ambassdor lounge  barely had anything to eat .  and those were in korean too.

the one in seoul airport was fantastic! I am not traveling for 10 months so no use of lounge for me.

Its not clear, because when they say transfer they probably mean from one marriott account to another.

https://www.marriott.com/marriott-rewards/terms/expiration.mi

very clear that cc points will help extend.
shopping mall also works.

also you can buy 1k points for $12.50 worst case scenario.

you may even be able to extend by making a booking and then canceling it.

TLDR: its not so bad.
