It's not correct, he's saying that it's optional, but I was trying to add it to my account and I couldn't so I guess it's not optional, anybody with any info on this?

No need to add it anywhere, you will automatically see any charges made by the AU under recent activity when you sign into your account

Thought he was saying your CR only gets affected if your individual AU card is used. Believe it or not, I've encountered people with such views.
