That's too bad if it doesn't work anymore😟
Maybe I'll ask my dad to add somebody else and see what it does.
Can't hurt to try, but seems like for some time already they are not backdating.

So as far as you know right now is there not any way to "manufacture" account age?

I don't think it is for a specific card, it used to work on any card. Very very YMMV if someone were to try and do that now.
I'm not arguing, just adding in.
Most of the ymmv is getting them to backdate it (which they can) if they do it then it helps

That is the whole issue. Once it is done, it should automatically update your CR.

As far is that is concerned, there is no way my father asked them to backdate my account. So they did the backdating on their own. But I guess banks pretty much stopped doing that now.

Have a general question. I know that many ppl will make themselves an AU (for amex SBS specifically) of their own card. I also know that CC's will allow bc ppl seem to have many AU's of themselves. But has anyone ever gotten the question of why you'd want to do this from the CC? Why would you need to get an AU on yourself? And if you already have one, why multiple of yourself?

Happy to learn more about how ppl that do this approach such a question (if even confronted by it).

do you ask for an AU named "TimT" or just ask for an AU "with my name"
I wonder what people who type "u" instead of "you" do with all their free time.

I have never been asked and I have added many, and I mean MANY.
I have even been told by them that I can add myself

All real people with real names.
I understand it's a real name but do you make it as if it's for someone else with the same name and DOB or do you not bother and just say "I want an AU in my name"
sorry i didn't explain well before i hope now is better

It seems interesting to me that they view this as seamless and logical. Don't get me wrong, I am happy about the power I get through that "avenue" but am strangely struck that they view this as a normal process.

Why not just do it online?

If that is his reason, it wouldn't seem to be something he would trick or lie to them about. If its valid I would also just say that I, card holder XX, need an AU in my name.

I did it online. If you're giving same name & DOB it's you.

Can you add multiple AUs of yourself all with same name, DOB and SSN?
