Signed up for 3 real people but had my names on the cards. When they came I couldn't tell whose was whose and the rep said it showed my name for each one, so to use my social and DOB for each one to activate. Did that, and finally when I actually signed up for online access, it told me whose was whose, but only right when I got the access (and I wrote it down). After, it shows me again. Very strange. So now I have 4 cards on my account with my name, social and DOB. All reps said no issues with doing that. I asked online and on phone.

Just curious, why do you need them activated?

When I try setting it up for online login I get a message to call to activate.

Still works. It did seem to get a bit harder to do but but still works. Once you find a rep who will do it just run with it. I had to huca a whole bunch of times last week (which I never had to do before) but eventually a rep was willing to do it and I did about 10 accounts

It's not about aciviating the cards per se - they work without activation. It's about setting up for online login. I wonder if the reason it (seemingly) became tougher was because of all the talk about it the past few weeks & the fact that so much more people are probably doing this now

What is the credit report downside of adding yourself as an authorized user for all your amex cards? Will they be listed/reported as new accounts on you report?
I got turned down by chase last month for a SP and BA card because I opened too many ccs in the last 2 years (not with chase) even though my cs is 832.

But will it be reported as a new account opening?

If you have it removed then it does not show as new account cuz it's removed.  Also, it does show as an AU account which the banks do recognize as being different from a primary account.
