I got turned down by chase last month for a SP and BA card because I opened too many ccs in the last 2 years (not with chase) even though my cs is 832.
New chase policy, won't approve for UR cards if you've opened 5 cards - any banks - in the last 2 years.

Still works. It did seem to get a bit harder to do but but still works. Once you find a rep who will do it just run with it. I had to huca a whole bunch of times last week (which I never had to do before) but eventually a rep was willing to do it and I did about 10 accounts
I just let the automated system go through asking me for DOB and SSN, don't put in any info, and after being prompted a few times for each, it says that the card is activated

IME that in no way means you will therefore be able to create it's own online login.

I did it successfully for multiple cards. I was also unsuccessful on multiple cards and only resolved the issue after multiple lengthy calls/HUCA to have a rep set it up online for me.

While removing 90 AU's from my report raised my average age of cards it also lowered my credit by like 500K (since each card was counting towards the total limit).

Lowering the CL didn't affect the score ?

Anybody with experience logging in a AU account to buy AMEX gift cards? I wanted to get 3 mo free shipping trial but since I've had the free shipping plan on my main account login before, there's no trial option. But when I log in to an AU account, free shipping trial is available. The credit card I want to use (SPG biz) isn't the same as the login I will use (Blue). I don't have any AU for SPG yet. Any reason I might run into problems?

You can use a credit card that's not on file, it's not an issue.

You can look at personalized cards. That may trigger the three months.

What are the practical differences between a AU for personal card, vs employee card for Business AMEX? Applying for AU on my personal AMEX was easy, but when I try to create an employee card for my business card, it's a little different and says I'll have to give employee DOB and SSN for activation. Not a huge deal, but new to me. I know being an AU does affect your total CL and credit usage; I assume having a business employee card does not?

I did look at personalized cards with my main login-- there was no 3 mo trial. But when I logged in with an AU account, it was there.

Is it ok to add an AU with his/her nickname or does it have to be a legal name?

Should be fine, as long as DOB and SSN are the same.
