You can tell them that the account is already on your file and this is just an AU card.

You are also entitled to a free report when you are denied credit. So if you've signed up for a credit card recently, you can get a free report.

I called these numbers to get AU removed from my credit report, and got nowhere. Are these the right numbers to call? They just said that I need to take this up with AMEX, as it's AMEX that reports this to the CB. They said they can't do anything about it. HUCA?

Thanks, maybe someone could ad the phone numbers to the wiki, this is what I got off google:

Equifax Phone Numbers:
1-800-685-1111: Credit Report Inquiries
1-888-766-0008: Place Fraud Alert on Your Credit Report
1-866-493-9788: Credit Reports, Scores and Identity Theft Monitoring
1-888-202-4025: Business Solutions

Experian Phone Numbers:
1-888-397-3742: Credit Report / Dispute Information / Fraud & Identity Theft
1-877-284-7942: Triple Advantage Credit Monitoring Membership
1-888-243-6951: Business Credit Services

TransUnion Phone Numbers:
1-800-493-2392: Credit Monitoring Service Inquires
1-800-888-4213: Purchase a Credit Report or Get Free Annual Report
1-800-916-8800: Dispute Items on Credit Report and Status Checks
1-800-680-7289: Fraud Alerts and Identity Theft Information
1-866-922-2100: Business Services Assistance

Experian is correct. For the others I think it was
 8883973742: Experian
: 8004377179: Equifax
: 8009198800: Transunion

They told me the same thing, but they agreed to try and open a dispute. Tell them you know it's from amex but you want to dispute them anyway.
