New to the AU world, but trying to get prepared for a big SBS. I had a few questions if anyone can help.

1) online it allowed me to order multiple AU cards in the same name. Is there any downside to this?
2) Can I add AU's without them knowing and agreeing, and/or if they dont exist? If you dont need a social how do they verify a birthday anyways.
3)  If I have cards for me and my wife can we be AU's on each others cards?
4) Does being an AU really hurt someone's credit score. How do they even know who it really is if there is no need for a  SSN?
5) Can you really get 99 AMEX cards for every card?

Thats it for now. Thank you.

I disagree slightly with MarcoPolo on some (one?) point(s) so I will give you my opinion on this too..

1) Yes there is a downside, it will show up on the CR
2) You can add whoever you want
3) Yes, multiple times.
4) Dont add SSN & it wont get added to their CR.
5) See wiki

Is there a way to add online without ss?
I've been using mine until now, but just saw in wiki that that's not recommended

Business doesn't require ssn online. Personal does.

In my experience, creating AU for personal card online requires SSN. I've never tried doing it over phone. Creating AU for business does not need SSN. It can be activated without SSN too, but when I called to create online access for business AU (online wouldn't let me without calling), the CSR wouldn't let me proceed without SSN. People here say to HUCA, maybe that works.

Will putting my SIL (age 18 ) as an AU on a consumer Starwood card with or without an SSN start her credit history?

With ssn (and doesn't need to be 18)

Thanks. Her age was referenced only to point out that she's just starting now to accrue credit history.

I understand. I was pointing out that she can start accruing credit history before 18 as an au

1) anyone have different experience with personal ? 2) why do you need a seperate login for ur AU assuming it s just for sbs and not someone actually using the card ?
