I added an AU on an amex biz card, they said its processing and wasnt approved yet bec there's no date of birth.  Doesn't the number get issued right away usually?

I've found that BIZ cards are different.  When I add AU's to personal cards they're approved right away, BIZ cards take a few days and I've even had an instance when an AU ("employee") was denied due to past default with Amex.

Anyone ever had any luck adding a cosigner to an account? I want to add my wife to one if my accounts(specifically a car loan that has been paid for the last 4 years) to build her credit history. She already is an AU on my accounts and got declined for a 2BM recently.

Could you add your business (tax idn) to your personal account as an authorised user? If yes will it build my business credit?

I am under the impression that a business tax id does not build any credit for the business if there is a personal social involved.  although its great to have business cards so your utilization ratio is not reflected . but if u were to default on A business  card u will be liable.

I'd like to help somebody build their credit (no bad credit, pretty much same range as me, but somehow not being approved for cc's) by adding them as an AU.

Which of these cards would be the best option?

My oldest BofA card

New BofA card with largest credit limit

Amex charge card

Chase Freedom

Discover card

Thanks.

I would say oldest BOA cc.

He's looking to build credit before he has any cc.

Are you sure about that?
Only on DDF does 24/6 mean 24/5/half/half

If i'm added as an authorised user on a card with a large credit line, could I spend now on my cards more, or I need to have a low utilisation on my own cards?

1) The fact that your an AU on account does not gaurantee that account will show up on your CR, rendering your question moot.

2) Even if it definitely did show up on your CR, the fact that your an AU means your generally not responsible for the charges, which means the fact that it's a large line is meaningless to your personal, liable, credit lines.

Yep. Was on mobile. But it's clear your reading comprehension skillz aren't up to snuff if you think that qualifies.

hey not sure if this is the right thread... but figured its a good place for people to see...

So my little brother whos 21 ... never had a cc or anything and wanted to get a card. So i tried to pull a citi identity monitor so i can see if he had any credit good/bad.  It turns out they couldn't even get a report cause no credit reports were ever even generated for him. anyway I told him to hold off applying, meanwhile I added him as an AU  on 2 of my oldest cards  (a chase freedom, and a Capital one card) my first 2 cards. anyway fast forward about 4-5 months.... I just pulled his experian report .. and he indeed had a report ... showed 2 accounts with the full credit history of each card .. about 5.5 years... and showed his debt to credit ratio of like 5% since I only had like a 400 dollar balance on 8k of credit on the last closing date of one of the cards. anyway they showed a credit score of like 788 ! (better then ME!) anway.. i think the transunion report only showed a credit hostory of like 2.5 years for some reason .. not sure why.. so this a great example of this working nicely ..

quick question for the veterans here though.... now that i'm going to try to apply for his own card.. is it worth trying to go after a rewards card .. or better play it safe with like trying to get him a freedom or something .. and wait a little longer for him to have something with his own name?

Just to update from the previous post....

So i Applied for Chase Freedom and got Declined - They say they are really strict and don't count AU's in there analysis- anyway I'll HUCA it ..

but anyway went ahead and applied for one of Citi's beginner cards (college student card) and got approved for 2.5k  CL .
