Yes. He is an AU, and it's not really his account. If it's a consumer card, it may help his credit, but he will still be eligible to get the card.

Quick Question: I was just added onto my Grandfather Amex card as an AU, which he has had for a long time.

After activating the card, I called up Amex, and asked for them to backdate the history, and the lady responded that they don't do such a thing. she continued, that at the end of the month the account will be reported to the CB, and it will only backdate it to when I opened the account.

She seems wrong. If she is, what should I go about doing to have the backdating? Does it happen automatically?

TIA

After the 'end of the month' pull your credit report.  (don't need the score for this)  And see when they say you started this card.  Then you'll know.  And you'll tell us.  then you'll ask for the next step.
It the end of the month was July, it's passed.  If it's Aug, I agree, it's a long way away.

Keep chatting with them online. If they say no, CHUCA.
Don't use the word backdate, just say ask them to correct the MS year
Alternatively, add s/o with an old date to YOUR account as an AU, then ask.
No matter what your income is20 au  will result in all your cards being shut down
I've had 80+ spread over my accounts.

Okay. Thanks. So, I will first check my Fico at the end of the month, and then CHUCA (nice one, btw). We can add it to HUTA, HUCA, CHUTA-- we have a whole arsneal. My question is, does chuta'ing and huta'ing make you high ;)

THis post would make a nOOb dizzy. Sorry :)

Did you mean 20 per account? Per primary account holder (spread over multiple accounts)?

Add her on without her social and it won't affect anything.
