When you call to add yourself or spouse as AU, does the CSR get suspicious? Can't they see that you are adding yourself? Can I add myself online too?
They told me I can add myself as many times as I want.

Some banks may hold it against you for being an AU on many cards.

Don't want banks to see that, it looks scary. If Chase decides to do a soft pull at my credit I think I would get A/Ad.

Think banks would accept the truth when applying for Mortgage?

"Sir, is there a good reason why you have  more than 100 credit cards in your name?"

"Yes. Small Business Saturday".

I read that AMEX only allows 3 AU to be created when made ONLINE, but unlimited when calling in. Is this correct? Or can I add more than 3 online? So far, I just created 2 AU for myself online, and had to enter my SSN. I'd rather just do it like this than call in, but not if there are limits.

Also, are there any pitfalls of creating many AU for myself when I have to enter SSN? I assume there's no hard credit pull. So if I spend and pay my bills responsibly, there will be NO consequences at all? It won't hurt my credit score and it won't affect my future applications for other credit cards?

I wanted to add that when I added my AU, I spelled my first name a little different. My name actually has 2 parts, and my primary card combined those 2 parts into 1 word. On the AU I applied for, I separated them, which is how it is on my ID. The fact that the AU have the same SSN but slightly different first name... I'm worried this might trigger FR.

I also signed myself up a bunch of times, so I'll be TOFTT to find out. Although I'm deducing this is something some of the more senior members have done successfully in the past w/o killing their credit.

Can someone comment if having mult AU of yourself affects your total credit line and therefore ability to apply for new cards? I want to apply for SPG business and Chase SW cards soon.

I'm asking if each AU card will have its own CL in addition to primary card, thus increasing CL associated with SSN. If not, then there should be NO negative consequences of adding yourself as AU?

Ok. In that case, why are some people reluctant to apply for AU online and include SSN? I'm talking about when adding themselves as AU.
