Ok. In that case, why are some people reluctant to apply for AU online and include SSN? I'm talking about when adding themselves as AU.
Because we're worried that on your credit report it'll show multiple times, even though its only 1 credit line

I'm asking if each AU card will have its own CL in addition to primary card, thus increasing CL associated with SSN. If not, then there should be NO negative consequences of adding yourself as AU?
On the CR it will have its own CL the same as the primary holder. If AU's CL's are used for calculating the score then all the AU cards listed will be used. Also what if the account is say 6 mo's old. Now all AU accounts listed will be 6 mo's and drag down your AAoA and your score. What if there is a balance. Now all the AU cards will show the balance and effect the score.

So you're saying self AU cards CAN harm our score? Others don't seem to agree. Do we not have a consensus?

How do you know this?

I gave my sister AU to my citi AA card a few months ago and she said she got $20k CL, which is the same as mine. What I wasn't clear on was if she shared my CL or if she is her own.

what you are saying is correct, but it doesn't prove anything when it comes to adding yourself as an AU

So you think the reason that your own AU won't be given its own line of credit is because SSN is the same?

In all seriousness, do you have any experience on this or any evidence, or are you just guessing?

Yours. You can spend a combined 20K, not 20K each

Even according to the people that are saying that it'll be reported as a new CL on your CR, adding yourself as a AU on your own Business card shouldn't result in this happening because business credit lines aren't reported - NO?

Thanks for the insight - this makes a lot of sense. I'm less concerned with my score and more concerned with what future chase reps would see when they look in my CR at my next MBM. They will see a ton of accounts, right? I will have to verbally explain to look closer and notice they are just AU?

What if I closed the AU accounts right after SBS would they stick or go away?

Even according to the people that are saying that it'll be reported as a new CL on your CR, adding yourself as a AU on your own Business card shouldn't result in this happening because business credit lines aren't reported - NO?

CM - what can you tell us about biz vs personal AU.

@RB3  :)

I am not sure how close Chase will look. If they do look they will see them. They do not go away when you close an account. You have to call/write/dispute to have them removed. Most just dispute saying they are not mine.

Most business cards are not reported unless in default (missed payment). There are some IIRC like Discover that do report. Chase had a glitch at one time where they were reporting business cards. They did fix it and removed the business cards from reports.
